Modular design saves space, weight and provides more comfort

Electrified powertrains are part of Schaeffler's core business. The company develops everything from individual components to highly complex systems. Through the merger with Vitesco, Schaeffler is further expanding its expertise in electric mobility. Electric axle drives have big market potential and Schaeffler is constantly developing the system further. In addition to the electric motor, power electronics and transmission, the 4in1 e-axle also integrates thermal management into the axle drive (see image). This modular design saves space, weight and provides more comfort. Particularly efficient thermal management increases the range per battery charge and accelerates the charging speed. The 4in1 e-axle is currently Schaeffler's most comprehensive e-drive system. It eliminates the need for costly new developments of the entire drive system. Thus, Schaeffler minimizes development time and costs.
