The Launch of the Innovations Report for the International Suppliers Fair (IZB) 2014

The publication provides an overview of the latest innovations.

Wolfsburg, Germany, 21st May 2014 – A multitude of new and further developed products, systems and technologies, as well as services, will be presented by exhibitors from Germany and abroad at the 8th International Suppliers Fair (IZB) 2014, which will take place between 14th and 16th October. In the run-up to the event, the IZB organiser Wolfsburg AG has decided to provide a summary of selection innovations in the “IZB Innovations Report”. This new publication was launched today and the first 15 texts and images can now be viewed online at www.izb-online.com/en/press/innovations-report-of-the-izb-2014.html. The Innovations Report will be updated on a regular basis right up until the start of the trade fair. A print version of the publication will also be available at the event.

Wolfsburg AG has been giving exhibitors at the IZB the opportunity to showcase their very own product innovations in the IZB Innovations Report since as early as 2010. AICON’s “3D Arena” tracking system, which is being presented at the IZB 2014 for the first time, enables vehicle designers to determine the absolute position of processing machines or measuring devices in working space. Eaton will also use to the event to showcase a premiere in the form of its “Electrically Assisted Variable Speed Technology”, or EAVS for short: a new electrically assisted system that enables forced induction with a variable engine speed.

Huge Weight Reduction Thanks to CFRP Wheels

Other innovations will be presented by companies such as Mubea and Sumida flexible connections. Mubea’s wheels made of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) can achieve weight savings of 20 to 30 percent compared to forged aluminium wheels, with a weight reduction of 9.4 kilograms per vehicle in the case of a 7.5J x 20" hybrid wheel and nearly 13 kilograms per vehicle in the case of full CRFP wheels. The innovations being presented by Sumida flexible connections include the company’s compact four to 25-pin PANTA connectors and a new development in the form of its PANTA SMD jumpers with a 0.5mm pitch.

Manufacturers from the automotive industry and the fields of heating systems and measurement engineering will also showcase their products at the trade fair. These companies not only include BENSELER with its coating procedure innovations, but also the Eissmann Group Automotive, which will present a splinter protection concept developed in cooperation with Porsche. EVONIK Industries, on the other hand, will exhibit a variety of innovative material solutions in the specialty chemicals sector, while HRSflow, a supplier of hot runner systems, has developed a multitude of technological solutions for sequential injection moulding.
