The Final Day of the IZB Focuses on South America

The 7th International Suppliers Fair (IZB) again placed a special focus on its partner countries Argentina and Brazil in its closing stages, during which Roberto Avellar, a Representative from the Embassy of Brazil, visited some of the over 50 exhibitors from his home country at the trade fair.

“The visitors and the multitude of South American delegations from the fields of politics and business were impressed by the outstanding presentations of exhibitors from the IZB partner countries”, stated Julius von Ingelheim, the Spokesman of the Board of Wolfsburg AG. This visit was followed by an introduction to Chile, the seventh largest nation in South America, at the Chile Raw Materials Forum, where the Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to Germany, Jorge O’Ryan Schütz, welcomed around 50 participants and provided them with an insight into the raw materials market that is essential for the automotive industry, in particular with regard to lithium and copper.

After attending the IZB Opening Event in the Autostadt, the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Germany, Victorio Taccetti, used the first two days of the trade fair to find out more about its Argentinian exhibitors. He also participated in an event focusing on the investment and cooperation opportunities available in the Argentinian automotive supplier industry together with Débora Giorgi, the Minister of Industry of Argentina. This event was organised by the Argentine Undersecretariat for Investment Development and Trade Promotion (SUDIC), the Association of Argentine Autoparts Manufacturers (AFAC), the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Berlin and the Consulate General of the Argentine Republic in Hamburg.

Another event was the “Biofuels for Transport” seminar organised in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the Embassy of Brazil in Berlin, at which experts discussed the importance and further development of biofuels in Brazil.

The IZB was also attended by over 30 ambassadors and representatives from the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Germany. The guests, who were invited to Wolfsburg by the Autostadt, visited both the Autostadt and the Volkswagen factory.
