Test stations on interchangeable trolleys, independent of the transport system

Once manufactured, safety-relevant components must undergo a 100-percent inspection. For this purpose they are fed into to a testing machine, which tests them in different testing stations, e.g. for straightness, threads or for cracks. Up to now, the test stations were permanently installed in testing machines: In case a station had to be serviced, for example, the entire system remained at a standstill. A new system had to be purchased for a new product, or lengthy rebuilds were necessary. To eliminate these deficits in conventional systems, the MEXS 400 (see image) has a modular design: The test stations are mounted on interchangeable trolleys, independent of the transport system. Test processes can thus be individually configured by the user. In case of maintenance or retooling at a test station, units are individually removed from the process and reworked externally. The entire system can keep running − without any downtimes.
