Vehicle can continue to be moved even after current breaking

Hongfa presents the Contriptor - a dual relay with tripping functionality (see image). In the field of E-mobility, conventional solutions use a switch and a pyro fuse. The Contriptor (contactor and tripping unit) combines these functionalities by utilising physical effects - making it a compact solution from a single source (total cost of ownership). Requirements for low, long-term stable contact resistances are met. Integrated functions such as current measurement, temperature measurement, diagnostics and auxiliary contacts ensure ASIL C.

The current is actively interrupted up to a defined current threshold value. Above this value, the contriptor opens automatically. Short-circuit currents of 20kA and more are safely and quickly disconnected and allow the device to be switched on again. This is a major advantage, as the vehicle can continue to be moved even after such a current breaking.
