Robust Low-Profile Board-to-Cable Connector for Battery Management and Cell Contacting Systems

In order to meet the special requirements of cell contacting systems and battery management systems, Yamaichi Electronics has developed further the non-ZIF Y-Lock Pullforce series. In addition to a double locking mechanism (side/front), the new Y-Lock V4 system (see image) also has an optional CPA (Connector Position Assurance). The two-part stiffener design on the cable side ensures contact protection of the contact pads for the FFC or FPC as well as ‘Koshiri’ protection in the event of improper insertion. The Y-Lock V4 is available in different pitches to meet the various voltage requirements. The system is optionally available in gold or tin plating and therefore also offers a cost-saving option. The Y-Lock series is certified for the automotive sector on the basis of the LV214.
