Permanently plastic sealant with great potential for simplification and savings

According to the new EU battery regulation, batteries (including those in electric vehicles) must be replaceable and repairable in the future. The use of common sealants (e.g. solid seals) confronts OEMs and suppliers with major challenges. For example, it is often difficult to seal securely during operation and reopen when required in practice. The use of permanently plastic sealants therefore offers great potential for simplification and savings, as they enable maximum ease of processing, allow the components to be opened easily when required, and still ensure tightness and protection. In addition, the significantly lower material requirements (e.g. compared to hot butylene) have a significantly positive effect on the cost structure. With the product Drei Bond 1109, the exhibitor offers such an innovative permanently plastic sealant.
