The Aptiv Parking Cube (see image) integrates a camera and radar in one compact parking sensor for the first time. This revolutionary approach combines the advantages of both technologies in a single component and enables reliable 360 degree short-range detection around the vehicle.

Due to the increased performance of the Aptiv Parking Cube, OEMs can realize completely new use cases. These range from the extension of the Operational Design Domain (ODD) for Level 2 and 3 at low speeds to the reliable classification of drive-over surfaces and practical benefits such as the active prevention of rim damage caused by curbs. With this innovation, Aptiv heralds the end of cost-intensive and weather-prone ultrasonic sensors and opens up unprecedented design freedom.
