An assembly revolution − More efficiency and fewer errors thanks to the wearable ClickID

The construction of electric cars is increasingly relying on plug connectors that have to be connected by hand. This leads to an increasing risk of errors during assembly, particularly when it comes to monotonous tasks in combination with increasing time pressure. We have responded to this trend by developing an AI-based wearable with state-of-the-art acoustic and motion sensors. ClickID (see image) recognizes and validates correct mating processes in real time. Haptic and visual feedback is reported to the user immediately after the manual assembly process has been completed, allowing assembly errors to be corrected straight away. The integrated AI technology analyzes complex motion and audio data to identify recurring patterns. With ClickID, the error rate and associated follow-up costs can be significantly reduced.
