Aptiv PULSE™ Sensor

Aptiv PULSE™ is an innovative near-range perception sensor that combines a surround-view camera and an ultra-short-range radar in a single compact module. Designed for parking and low-speed urban maneuvers, PULSE provides continuous 360° perception around the vehicle with greater reliability, range, and environmental robustness than traditional ultrasonic sensor systems. By fusing radar and camera data, it accurately detects pedestrians, curbs, obstacles, and other road users while operating in rain, snow, darkness, and glare. Installed in existing surround-view camera locations, PULSE can replace multiple ultrasonic sensors, reducing system complexity, wiring, and cost. Beyond improving parking performance, it enables features such as 3D surround view, rear automatic emergency braking, rim and door protection, over-drivability detection, and future low-speed automated driving functions.
