The IZB 2026 Call for Proposals has closed, and the response has been overwhelming: 365 proposed solutions were submitted for the five Volkswagen Group hubs. Compared to 2024, this represents a 143 percent increase.
The Call for Proposals focused on specific challenges from the Volkswagen Group. Exhibitors and startups were invited to submit relevant products, technologies, and innovations. The scope ranged from interior and exterior design to electronics and connectivity, powertrain and batteries, as well as metal, body, and drivetrain systems, along with general procurement topics and AI.
The response was particularly strong in the Volkswagen Group Hub “Metal, Body & Drivetrain,” with 127 submissions. A total of 327 proposals came from IZB exhibitors, with an additional 38 from startups.
Now the best solutions are being selected
The 365 submissions are currently being reviewed and evaluated by experts from the Volkswagen Group. The most compelling proposals are now being selected for the five hubs.
The top solutions will be notified in mid-September. During the IZB from October 27 to 29, the selected companies will meet directly with experts from Procurement and Technical Development. This exchange can lead to concrete approaches for further collaboration.

The Call for Proposals brings together specific challenges faced by the Volkswagen Group with suitable solutions from the supplier industry and the startup scene. It is precisely this exchange that visitors can experience at the IZB.

They will thus serve as go-to destinations for all visitors who want to learn firsthand about the technological challenges currently facing the Volkswagen Group and the solutions that suppliers and startups are offering to address them.
