Every two years, the Allerpark in Wolfsburg is transformed into a sought-after marketing and communication platform for suppliers to the automotive industry. A look into the Exhibitor Directory reveals that even in its 12th staging, the IZB is met with high interest by the industry. "Already early in the planning phase, we received requests by many exhibitors for larger stand spaces. We did our best to accommodate them. In addition, Volkswagen as a manufacturer will be exhibiting on a total of four stands. This enables us to greatly expand the opportunities to enter into contact with Volkswagen", says Josef Schulze Sutthoff, Head of the IZB at Wolfsburg AG, the company organising the trade fair, in his positive summary.
A high level of international participation and presence of leading suppliers
Overall, the field of exhibitors consists of a wide spectrum: Ten of the TOP15 of the companies listed in the trade newspaper “Automobilwoche” in July 2024 as having the highest sales worldwide are represented by a stand. As an OEM, the Volkswagen Group, with its own trade fair presence under this year's key topic of "Empowering Partnerships", underscores the significance of dialogue with the supplier industry. In terms of themes, topics involving digitalisation are becoming increasingly prominent: Two of the halls form the theme cluster of "Electronics & Connectivity"; according to the 2024 Deloitte Global Automotive Consumer Study, they are both focus topics of consumers when it comes to future buying decisions.
The IZB 2024 once again reveals a high level of international participation: 40 percent of the exhibitors come from outside Germany, whereby Asian companies – from China in particular – are represented in somewhat higher numbers than at the IZB 2022. For the first time, Morocco is represented this year with one company at the trade fair. Over the past few years, the country has developed into Africa's largest automotive producer.
With around 60 percent, German companies are traditionally the largest exhibitor group, whereby the automotive clusters are also reflected in the number of exhibitors. The majority are from North-Rhine Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Lower Saxony. Around 30 companies from the host automotive region of Braunschweig-Wolfsburg are exhibiting at the trade fair.
The International Suppliers Fair (IZB)
The International Suppliers Fair (IZB) has established itself as a marketing and communication platform for suppliers along the entire automotive value chain since 2001. The event, which is organised by Wolfsburg AG and its technical partner Messe Wolfsburg, takes place every two years. More information on the event can be found at www.izb-online.com.
