Around 70 innovations and world premieres included in the IZB-InnovationsReport

A newly developed car seat mostly comprised of 3D-printed components, universal vehicle charging inlets for low charging powers up to high-power charging and effectively recording, displaying and analysing signals on several channels: These are just a few examples of the innovative new solutions presented by companies in the automotive industry in the InnovationsReport for the International Suppliers Fair (IZB), which can now be viewed online at www.izb-online.com/innovations. A total of 69 companies from nine different countries submitted their automotive innovations for the latest report, 16 of which were labelled as world premieres. In addition to Germany, the report features innovations from participating companies from Austria, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Turkey. The InnovationsReport, which has been published for each IZB since 2010, is celebrating its sixth anniversary this year, despite the fact that the IZB as an in-person event has been postponed until 11th to 13th October 2022 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Here are just some examples of the many innovations from all areas of the automotive supplier industry presented in this year’s report:

The car seat developed by OECHSLER is mainly comprised of 3D-printed components and stands out against conventional models thanks to properties such as higher comfort, less weight and less space required. The universal “CHARX connect” vehicle charging inlets from PHOENIX CONTACT enable the AC and DC charging of electric cars and electric utility vehicles – from low charging powers all the way to high-power charging. According to its manufacturer, DEWETRON’s Highspeed Power Analyzer, the “DEWE3-PA8”, is the most innovative solution for recording data and displaying, processing, storing and analysing various signals in the automotive sector.

Unique valve technology

With its flexible and robust yet soft TapeTubes, Coroplast offers safety for the wire harness and numerous advantages compared to protective sleeves and corrugated tubes. The new and unique LED headlamp concept by Covestro is manufactured using “Makrolon® TC” polycarbonate and based on just four different materials due to its intelligent design. The “Mid-Class Luxury Massage” seat massage system developed by Leggett & Platt Automotive is powered by unique valve technology and has a much less complex design than other high-end massage systems.

A tailor-made sound signature

Another of the innovations showcased in the report is the SoundStage software solution developed by the French company ARKAMYS, which uses existing built-in speakers to provide immersive 3D sound, a tailor-made sound signature and a unique audio atmosphere in vehicles. The new pressure-sensitive adhesives by the Dutch company Avery Dennison provide for better battery modules for electric vehicles and offer properties such as dielectric strength and flame retardance.

With its SpeedMark software version, the Austrian laser manufacturer Trotec Laser is presenting a world premiere in the Innovations Report that enables not only cylindrical items but also objects in 3D to be marked in no time at all with the largest possible output. Yet another world premiere is the LVC200 automated video measurement system by Vision Engineering, which enables fully automated measurement routines in three axes with reduced measuring and process times. Last but not least, Von Roll Automotive has developed an innovative battery cover with integrated burnout protection.

We hope that you enjoy browsing through our IZB-InnovationsReport, and we would like to thank our exhibitors for their contributions and for their commitment to the publication.
