The International Suppliers Fair (IZB) Presents 30 World Premieres for the First Time

The Innovations Report Showcases State-of-the-art Technical Developments

The International Suppliers Fair (IZB) has now established itself as a major gathering for the global automotive industry. One of the reasons behind this success is the extremely large number of state-of-the-art and innovative exhibits on show at the event. This year’s IZB Innovations Report showcases new products and services from 76 exhibitors from nine different countries, for example South Korea and from this year's IZB partner countries Malaysia and Thailand, as well as Italy and Spain. Two years ago, a total of 64 exhibitors made the most of the Innovations Report as an extra service offered by the company Wolfsburg AG. The publication also boasts another impressive figure, namely a total of 30 world premieres being showcased at the IZB 2014 compared to 14 exhibits introduced for the first time at the IZB 2012. These are also being joined by other premiered exhibits that will not be officially and exclusively presented to trade visitors and media representatives until the trade fair is underway. The Innovations Report can be viewed online right up until the start of the trade fair at www.izb-online.com/en/press/innovations-report-of-the-izb-2014.html.

The “VL 2:12" pick-up turning machine, which is being presented as a world first at the IZB 2014 by the EMAG Group from Thailand, can be used for turning or for driven drilling and milling tools in order to carry out a large number of processing activities. Two world premieres are being showcased in Wolfsburg by the Thai company Somboon Advance Technology, namely a new coil spring and a new stabiliser bar for the spring system. The Austrian company Borealis is also presenting not one, but two world premieres in the form of two new materials for automotive suppliers.

The FAIST ChemTec Group is taking advantage of the trade fair to premiere its new adhesive pad for the secure sealing of holes during the painting process and a system for the automated application of damping films that it developed in cooperation with a partner company. Diehl Metall, on the other hand, is using the IZB 2014 to inform visitors about the latest developments in its work on contact systems for lithium-ion batteries and new high-performance components for turbocharger and slide bearing applications.

A Robot with a Camera System for Spatial Monitoring

Alongside a number of outstanding features such as a high-end tuner, the ability to play CDs or DVDs, Bluetooth streaming, USB stick ports and an SD slot, “Cape Town 945” from the company Blaupunkt Malaysia also facilitates the use of Android applications. Yaskawa is showcasing its “Motoman SDA10D”, a 15-axis dual-arm robot that is networked with the “Safety Eye” camera system” for 3D spatial monitoring and was developed in cooperation with Chemnitz University of Technology.

AICON’s "3D Arena" tracking system enables vehicle designers to extremely accurately determine the absolute position of processing machines or measuring devices in working space. The company Eaton is presenting a new electrically assisted system that enables forced induction with a variable engine speed at the IZB. The electronic "ESR10 Micro 10 A" standard relay from the company E-T-A Elektrotechnische Apparate GmbH stands out due to its silent operation and long lifespan. At the new "E³ Research Factory for Resource-Efficient Production", the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology (IWU) works in cooperation with partners from the industry to develop and test solutions for current and future production challenges.
