The 11th International Suppliers Fair (IZB) has now been postponed due to the Corona pandemic and the resulting lack of planning reliability. The new dates for the showcase event for the automotive supplier industry in Wolfsburg are 5th to 7th October 2021. “Since the outbreak of the pandemic, we have been working hard to develop a new concept to hold the IZB in October 2020 as planned. Nevertheless, international exhibitors and visitors and a wide variety of personal contacts and specialist events are essential elements of a trade fair like the IZB. Given that the further development of the pandemic and the resulting official requirements are still difficult to predict, it may not be possible to provide all of these elements this year. Postponing the event is therefore the best option”, states Dr Frank Fabian, the Spokesman of the Board of Wolfsburg AG, explaining the decision. The company has been organising the trade fair for the automotive supplier industry, which has developed into the leading event for the industry in Europe, since 2001. The IZB Congress organised by IPM AG, which was due to take place in Wolfsburg on 5th October 2020, will also not take place this year.

The decision to postpone this year’s IZB was based on intensive consultation with the responsible authorities and partners and detailed strategic and economic consideration of all influencing factors. According to the City of Wolfsburg, it is likely that trade fairs, shows and exhibitions of this scale will still not be permitted in October. “The decision to postpone the IZB was anything but easy. Nevertheless, the health and safety of our exhibitors, trade visitors and employees are always our top priority. This is joined by our commitment to offering a high-quality event”, says Dr Frank Fabian. All exhibitors, service providers and patrons of the event have been immediately informed about its postponement so that they can prepare for their participation in the IZB in 2021 with the best possible planning reliability.

With its strong focus on suppliers to the automotive industry, the International Suppliers Fair (IZB) has established itself as an important business and networking platform for top managers from OEMs and automotive supplier companies. The eleventh edition of the internationally established trade fair was fully booked in autumn 2019, just a few weeks after the dates of the event in 2020 were announced. Companies from more than 30 different nations had signed up to participate in the event and demonstrate how the industry is shaping the vehicle mobility of the future under the motto of “Connecting Car Competence”.
