Congratulations from the patrons of the IZB 2022

The International Suppliers Fair is celebrating its 20th anniversary. We are delighted to have received congratulatory messages from a number of prominent figures who pay tribute to the importance of the IZB for Volkswagen, the Wolfsburg location and the German Federal State of Lower Saxony.

Stephan Weil

Prime Minister
German Federal State of Lower Saxony

"Lower Saxony is Germany’s top automotive location and also a leading wind energy location. Our federal state is therefore predestined to be a pioneer for cleaner mobility.

In times of disruptive change, the automotive industry is currently facing bigger challenges than ever before. Sandwiched between climate protection and digitalisation, it needs to master the upcoming changes in order to continue its success in the future and to preserve jobs or create new positions both in Lower Saxony and beyond. This particularly applies to supplier companies, which play a major role in the transformation requirements facing the industry.

With its 20-year history, the International Suppliers Fair, a marketplace for future-oriented innovations, has therefore never been as important as it is right now. I would like to wish the IZB every continued success."

Dennis Weilmann

Lord Mayor
City of Wolfsburg

“Wolfsburg’s role as an automotive location is an absolute success story, and the International Suppliers Fair has played an important role in this achievement. With its multitude of locally based supplier companies and numerous research institutions at universities in and around Wolfsburg, the Smart City model city and 5G Project Region has firmly established itself as a European centre of excellence for mobility. Wolfsburg is therefore an authentic location when it comes to hosting this globally recognised showcase event for the international supplier industry.

In 2018, well over 800 exhibitors from more than 30 different nations and around 50,000 IZB visitors from all over the world got to know and grew to value the attractiveness and international mindset of our city. I hope that we will soon again be allowed to welcome such a large number of guests back to Wolfsburg. As the Mayor of the City of Wolfsburg, I would like to congratulate Wolfsburg AG, the organiser of the IZB, on the 20th anniversary of its impressive event and wish the International Suppliers Fair continued success and all the best for the future.”

Murat Aksel

Member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Brand, responsible for the Purchasing Division

"20 years of the International Suppliers Fair (IZB) represent a true success story for Wolfsburg. Here in Volkswagen’s home city, two areas with strong and close connections in the automotive industry have been working hand in hand for decades: production and supply. In times like these in particular, when the field of mobility is undergoing a comprehensive transformation, we need this cooperative collaboration with our global suppliers more than ever before: Innovation, digitalisation and networking with our suppliers and development partners are the key to our shared journey towards a successful and CO2-neutral future. The IZB has always been and continues to be an essential platform for this journey. I am therefore already very much looking forward to the upcoming International Suppliers Fair in 2022 and am certain that it will yet again provide a multitude of ideas and initiatives for the mobility of the future."
