International Suppliers Fair (IZB)
16th to 18th October 2018
Wolfsburg | Germany
The automotive industry is currently facing a number of challenges in the form of the "digital transformation". The supplier industry is also having to increasingly focus its business models on topics such as networking and automated driving. In order to do so successfully, many manufacturers and suppliers are looking for suitable trainees and qualified experts, above all when it comes to the growing demand for IT specialists and software developers. This trend was noticeable at today's Job Fair held as part of the International Suppliers Fair (IZB). On the third and final day of the event, around 2500 pupils, students, university graduates and jobseekers made the most of the opportunity to talk to representatives from the human resources departments of the exhibiting companies in order to enquire about career opportunities. Many of them also used the chance to have a look at the JobWall containing current job advertisements and have their application portfolios checked by Wolfsburg AG. On the occasion of the Job Fair, Wolfsburg AG worked in cooperation with the trade newspaper "Automobilwoche" for the first time.
The Job Fair has been a feature of the International Suppliers Fair ever since the first IZB back in 2001. This year, it was held for the ninth time and still focused on providing opportunities for personal dialogue between applicants and representatives from human resources departments.
The Job Wall in Hall 1 enabled jobseekers to view around 50 job vacancies, with positions ranging from key account managers through to development and technical engineers and right through to software developers. It also contained advertisements from the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences informing visitors about courses connected to the automotive industry. In close proximity to the Job Wall, human resources representatives from the company Wolfsburg AG provided jobseekers with a professional evaluation of their application documents.
On the occasion of this year's Job Fair, Wolfsburg AG cooperated with the trade newspaper "Automobilwoche", which also had its own stand at the trade fair, for the first time. The special "Karriereführer" publication produced by "Automobilwoche" contains both job advertisements and employer profiles.
The IZB Job Fair has constantly been attracting more and more interest among both exhibitors and jobseekers in recent years. The fact that the event was promoted across a campus network in the run-up to the IZB enabled more than 370,000 students to find out about the event.
