International Suppliers Fair (IZB)
16th to 18th October 2018
Wolfsburg | Germany
Automotive suppliers from a total of 32 different countries will showcase their products and solutions at the 9th International Suppliers Fair (IZB). This impressive total means that the trade fair will welcome more nations than ever before. Companies from Sweden, Finland, Norway, Slovakia, Moldova and Taiwan will all celebrate their first appearance at the IZB from 18th to 20th October 2016. The Scandinavian automotive markets in particular are currently experiencing positive development. Recent figures recorded for the year 2015 reveal an increase in sales in double figures, which offers supplier companies a number of opportunities. The Republic of China (Taiwan) is also one of the emerging competitors in the international supplier industry. An increasing number of Taiwanese electronics manufacturers are breaking into the automotive market with products such as driver assistance systems and infotainment solutions. "As the leading trade fair for the supplier industry, the IZB is attracting an increasing amount of widespread attention. These new nations bring important ideas and impetus to the trade fair and underline its high standards in terms of internationality", declares Stephan Boeddeker, the IZB Project Manager at Wolfsburg AG, the company behind the event. You can find out more about the IZB at www.izb-online.com.
Since being launched in 2001, the IZB has developed into an important business and networking platform for top managers from OEMs and automotive supplier companies. This successful development is proven by its constantly increasing numbers of exhibitors and visitors and the fact that more and more countries are participating in the event. After starting out with just six nations, the trade fair in the Allerpark welcomed exhibitors from an impressive total of 22 different countries in 2006 and 2008. This positive trend continued with 24 nations in 2010, 28 nations in 2012 and 29 nations in 2014. This year, a record total of 32 nations are expected to be represented at Europe's leading trade fair for the supplier industry.
The northern European countries of Finland, Norway and Sweden are all attending the IZB for the first time. Sweden will present automotive supplier companies at a joint stand run by Business Sweden in Hall 2. Business Sweden mainly supports local companies that want to tap into the German market. It can also be found in the Metal and Lightweight Construction and Car Body Construction areas in Hall 7. Hall 7 will also contain stands showcasing the products and services of the Scandinavian Automotive Supplier Association FKG (Fordonskomponentgruppen) and the company Protal AB. Protal AB develops and manufactures prototypes made of plastic and metal and also offers rapid prototyping, toolmaking and injection moulding services.
Exhibitors from the island nation of Taiwan will also celebrate their first appearance at the IZB. The around 3000 automotive supplier companies based in Taiwan are supported by the government and form a future-oriented cluster. Their sales of automotive components and systems to customers located abroad enable Taiwan to achieve an annual turnover of approx. 4.84 billion Euros. The main products manufactured in Taiwan are produced for the global aftermarket. Taiwanese supplier companies have made a particularly significant impact as experts in the field of digitalisation.
The increasing internationality of the IZB underlines the role played by the business location of Wolfsburg as a centre of expertise for the automotive industry.
