With its GRIPCOAT® Direct (see image) the Miba Coating Group is presenting the option of using the partial direct coating of components to increase friction in the case of force-locked connections for the first time. The coating eliminates the need for additional discs in order to increase the friction coefficient and therefore leads to a significant reduction in the installation work and costs involved. The directly coated components can also be made smaller, which in turn has a positive impact on their weight and CO2 emissions. The high friction factor (up to factor 6) that can be achieved with the coating results in a more efficient transmission of high torques and a reduction in operating vibrations. The application of the industrial diamonds is carried out in a fully automatic process at low temperatures and also enables non-conductive substrates to be given a friction-increasing coating for the first time, thus enabling new and unique combinations of different materials. GRIPCOAT® Direct can be used in an extremely wide variety of areas of application, for example in engines, gearboxes, chassis and undercarriages.
