The lack of qualified staff is still a burning issue that is affecting the automotive industry in particular. According to a study published by the digital association Bitkom in mid-June, for example, four out of ten companies (42 percent) believe that a lack of qualified employees represents an obstacle for the use of new technologies. Bitkom claims that more than 55,000 IT specialists are currently needed to fill vacancies across different industries. Another equally precarious situation can be found in the field of engineering.
This is precisely why Wolfsburg AG is continuing to place a strong focus on this problematic issue when organising the trade fair. After all, the Job Fair is already a traditional feature of the International Suppliers Fair (IZB) and over the past few years, interest in the event has been constantly growing among both exhibitors and jobseekers. At the IZB in 2016, around 2500 students, graduates and young professionals made the most of the opportunity to establish direct contact with representatives from human resources departments at the Job Fair, where they found out about career entry, career, employment and further education opportunities available at the respective supplier companies.
The highlights of the programme of this year's Job Fair on 18th October will include individual expert advice from participating exhibitors and the well-established free application portfolio check in Hall 1, which will again be provided by the Human Resources Department of the company Wolfsburg AG. Job advertisements will be placed and displayed on the Job Wall in Hall 1 throughout the entire IZB. Interested companies can advertise their job vacancies and employer profile in an effective and attention-grabbing manner by publishing an advertisement on the Online Job Wall. During the IZB, jobseekers can make the most of the unique opportunity to receive first-hand information on the exhibiting companies and get to know representatives from the human resources departments of the companies participating in the Job Fair in person.
