Digitalisation in the Focus of the International Automotive Congress

Intelligent mobility, architectures in software systems and big data will form the focus of this year's International Automotive Congress, which will take place in Wolfsburg on 17th October. The event will begin with an opening speech by Julius von Ingelheim, the Spokesman of the Board of Wolfsburg AG, followed by welcome speeches by Klaus Mohrs, the Mayor of the City of Wolfsburg, and Wilhelm Dresselhaus, a Member of the Executive Board of Bitkom e.V. A keynote speech will then be given by the patron of the congress, Johann Jungwirth. The Chief Digital Officer of Volkswagen AG will provide participants with interesting insights into the digital transformation of the Volkswagen Group. Other highlights on the event programme include talks by experts from Volkswagen such as Dr Martin Hofmann, the Group CIO, and Dr Volkmar Tanneberger, the Head of the Electric/Electronic Development Division, as well as other speakers such as Dr Horst Glaser, Head of Chassis Development at Audi, Håkan Schildt, the Director of Strategy and Business Development at Scania, and representatives from automotive supplier companies and the Fraunhofer Institute.

The partners of the congress are the companies HERE, Continental AG and Bitkom e.V., as well as Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles as the event's mobility partner. The congress and its programme will be rounded off by expert presentations from the main sponsors: Robert Bosch GmbH, MHP – A Porsche Company and ITConcepts Automotive GmbH.

The event will also be accompanied by a trade exhibition featuring partners and sponsors. This exhibition will offer speakers and participants an exclusive platform for networking and an exchange of ideas and experiences concerning the specialist topic of digitalisation.

The International Automotive Congress – Mobility Goes Digital, which will be hosted by representatives from the trade magazines automotiveIT and carIT, the media partners of the congress, will be brought to an end with a closing speech by Thomas Krause, a Member of the Board of Wolfsburg AG.
