International Automotive Congress – ASEAN on 13th October 2014

International Automotive Congress – ASEAN on 13th October 2014

The ASEAN countries have become Asia's third largest ‘economic powerhouse’ after China and India, and the development of the Southeast Asian economic zone continues in a dynamic manner. A good reason for Wolfsburg AG to provide the right setting for this emerging market by welcoming the ASEAN as the partner region of the International Suppliers Fair (IZB).

Traditionally, the International Automotive Congress which kicks off the IZB on 13th October is dedicated to the partner region of the event. Top experts from the worlds of business and technology and from different organisations and associations will provide congress participants with practical insights into the emerging Southeast Asian automotive market.

The International Automotive Congress will begin with a strategic positioning provided by Soerjono Soerjono, the Director of the Directorate of Land Transportation Equipment Industries at the Ministry of Industry of Indonesia. The morning programme will feature a number of different speakers such as Hans Demant, a General Representative of Volkswagen AG, who will report on the opportunities available in the ASEAN budget market, and Weiming Soh, the Executive Vice President and President of Commercial Operations in Greater China/ASEAN at Volkswagen AG, who will give a talk on the dynamic development of the ASEAN automotive market.

In the second part of the congress, which will focus on sustainability, prospects and investments, speakers from Continental Automotive Thailand, Bosch Automotive Thailand and the Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft (DEG) will introduce financing solutions and funding schemes.

The congress is accompanied by a trade exhibition offering a platform for exchange and networking activities.
