With its new 100-percent watertight 13P/12V socket system (see image), the IZB exhibitor Erich Jaeger GmbH wants to make connections between vehicles and trailers much easier and safer. The socket's sophisticated double contact system with a primary and secondary lock works together with individual wire seals to prevent the penetration of moisture into the on-board electrical systems of vehicles. The system remains 100-percent watertight, even under the most extreme conditions. In fact, the exhibitor's connection assembly is even able to master the lowering of a sports boat into the water (which involves submerging the connector system) without any difficulties. The socket system meets all of the requirements of original equipment manufacturers in the automotive industry, for example in the IPX7 (watertight up to a depth of 0.5m) and IPX9K (protection against water during high-pressure/steam-jet cleaning) protection categories. Alongside its watertight properties, the new 13P/12V system by ERICH JAEGER also offers greatly simplified installation options using plug and play technology.
